In between the various articles I am writing, most mornings (at about 4.30 with the coffee) I am colour coding the Town Maps of 1888/89 with Occupation by Trade for each street. There are about 1,100+ occupations of which I have grouped them into 11 trades. The Street is colour marked in a descending order of Trades with the most occupations.
I will eventually finish 20 or so maps for Birmingham North and I am hoping this will give a helpful guide into where the prominent trades were.
